Melody's Munchkins 2 LLC is a preschool serving families throughout Portland with four locations—145th, Woodland, Holgate, and Mill—each staffed with its own dedicated teaching team. Every location shares the same educational philosophy while allowing families to choose the location that works best for their schedule and neighborhood.
Learning at Melody's Munchkins is guided by the curriculum developed around the Oregon Kindergarten Readiness Standards, which means your child's day is structured around the skills they'll need as they enter elementary school. Rather than relying on worksheets or passive instruction, teachers use active, play-based, and project-based experiences that let children explore concepts through hands-on discovery. A project might begin with a question or something children discover and grow into observation, experimentation, books, art, building, dramatic play, and continued exploration with teacher guidance.
Our locations incorporate outdoor learning, gardening, circle time, and exploration into the daily routine. You'll notice your child spending time in the garden learning about plant growth and responsibility, participating in group discussions during circle time to build communication skills, and engaging in projects that encourage problem-solving and creativity.

Operating hours at the 145th, Holgate, and Mill locations are Monday through Friday, 7:15 am to 5:15 pm, with the Woodland location open 7 am to 5 pm. Breakfast is served from 8:45 am to 9 am, and lunch runs from 12 pm to 12:30 pm, with an afternoon snack at 3:15 pm Monday through Friday, giving families reliable structure around mealtimes and pickup schedules.
