Meet Melody
Hi, I'm Melody Norris, founder of Melody's Munchkins.
For more than 35 years, I have had the privilege of working with young children and their families. What began as a small dream has grown into four unique preschool locations, each built on the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, loved, respected, and excited to learn.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to one simple idea: children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful experiences. Whether they are building with blocks, discovering insects in the garden, painting a masterpiece, listening to a favorite story, or working through a problem with a friend, every moment has the potential to become a valuable learning opportunity.
Outdoor learning has become one of the cornerstones of Melody's Munchkins. I believe nature provides the perfect classroom for developing curiosity, confidence, creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills. When children spend time outdoors every day, they aren't just getting fresh air—they're asking questions, making discoveries, taking healthy risks, building friendships, and developing a lifelong appreciation for the world around them.
Our curriculum is developed around the Oregon Kindergarten Readiness Standards and designed to make learning active, meaningful, and fun. Through hands-on experiences, children develop language, literacy, math, science, writing, social-emotional skills, creativity, and independence while building the confidence they'll carry into kindergarten and beyond.
One of the things I am most proud of is the incredible team of educators who share this vision. They are talented, compassionate professionals who bring their own unique strengths and "superpowers" to the classroom every day. Together, we work to ensure every child is known, valued, encouraged, and celebrated for exactly who they are.
Thank you for considering Melody's Munchkins. I'd love the opportunity to meet your family, answer your questions, and show you what makes Melody's Munchkins such a special place to learn and grow.
